Timeline: May- June 2027
The main objective of the project “Developing Career Guidance for Adults with Low Qualifications” is to raise awareness among and encourage providers of career guidance services to offer high-quality programs. The ultimate aim is to increase adult participation in training initiatives that support skills development.
The project will focus on career guidance related to soft skills and targeted at adults with low qualifications. At the same time, it will adopt a cross-cutting approach that—alongside soft skills—also incorporates the development of skills related to Artificial Intelligence (AI), green skills, life skills in contexts of social justice, and the integration of the arts into adult education practices for unemployed individuals with low qualifications. These dimensions will be embedded in the activities of organizations involved in adult education and career guidance.
To meet its objectives, the project will include the following actions:
- Mapping of Providers
This will be carried out through the use of networks of partners across organizations such as EOPPEP, INE/GSEE, ELESYP, KEDE, DYPA, and others.
- Preparation of Thematic Areas and Data Collection Template
A dedicated online tool will be designed to systematically collect data from each organization, capturing their career guidance activities as well as identifying opportunities for synergies and joint actions.
- Three Meetings with Relevant Stakeholders
These online meetings, involving representatives from relevant organizations, will be based on the findings of the mapping exercise. They aim to bring together experts and stakeholders, define transversal skills, and present the online data collection tool; furthermore, through focus groups, to gather qualitative data on types of activities, target groups, content, methodologies, and synergies. A key outcome will be the formulation of proposals—through career guidance—for empowering unemployed individuals with low qualifications to participate in skills development programmes.
- Development of a Digital Guide
A Digital Guide will be produced based on the collected data, aiming to promote—through career guidance—the participation of low-skilled adults in adult education. It will focus in particular on programs for developing transversal skills, good practices, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and the use of the arts as a tool in adult education.
